The apartment, built in 1932 by a Greek and a fashionable address for the Istanbul Jewish community in the 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s has been recently restored. It is located steps from the Galata tower, built by the Genoese in the early 14th century. Glorya Apartman in easy walking distance of the lively Bohemian atmosphere of Beyoğlu with its cafes, galleries, book stores, jazz clubs and theatres. The location is also a convenient point from which to reach the Old City by tramway with its world famous monuments and bazaars, ferries to travel up the Bosphorus or out to the Princes Islands. From Taksim, the metro takes you in 10 minutes to modern shopping and business districts. On the ground floor a typical Turkish "lokanta" serves tasty, inexpensive lunches and across the street you will find a popular jazz club in a Byzantine cellar offers nightly entertainment. The nearby Galata Anemon Hotel offers a glassed-in roof terrace for refreshments and a wine tavern in the cellar. Down the street you can eat dinner at “Galata House” a cozy restaurant located in the former British Jail.
