"The Melancholy Moose Lodge" was completed in March, 2004 by a local builder. The cabin sits high on 2.5 private, wooded acres with year round mountain views and is approximately 3 miles from the little mountain town of Blue Ride, Ga. It has 3 levels which include a living room, dining room, kitchen, large loft/family room, two master suites and a walk-out basement. For your added enjoyment, there are 3 screened-in porches, complete with rocking chairs, deck furniture and a 5 person Hot Tub. The cabin has a beautiful stone gas log fireplace with remote, an electric Pot Belly Stove and central air and heat throughout. You will find a Wireless DSL Line, 4 televisions (one is a 52" Wide Screen) with satellite, DVD, VCR, CD, Stereo & surround sound. There are a variety of books, games, DVD, Video tape, CD's and cards for your entertainment. The Lodge is decorated in a "Woodland Motif", complete with log furniture, wood blinds, pinecones, twigs and lots of trees. Throughout the cabin you will find a variety of Moose, Bear, Deer and Elk characters, guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
You can make your way downstairs to "DIRTY DAVE's SALOON" (the Rec Room). The saloon has an "old west" flare. It is equipped with its own Bar, Refrigerator, Microwave, Seating Area, POOL TABLE, Queen Sleeper Sofa, Bathroom, TV, DVD, & Stereo w/surround sound. The double French doors take you out to another screened-in porch. The large capacity Washer and Dryer are also located on this level and are stocked with detergent, dryer sheets, iron & ironing board .
Both bedrooms are beautifully and comfortably decorated with Log Queen Beds, night stands, benches, dressers and TV's. Each room takes on its own personality and is equipped with additional pillows, sheets, blankets and throws. Both bathrooms have separate showers, large jetted garden tubs, hanging chandeliers, plush robes, towels, hair dryers and are stocked with liquid body & hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, hand lot

White water rafting, fishing, tubing, boat and ski rentals. Hiking, biking, golfing, horseback riding, various tour, The Scenic Railway trip, sight seeing day trips to waterfalls, parks, and quaint towns, shopping, antiquing and R.V. sites.

The Lodge is set up for Adults, however, we do except WELL BEHAVED, WELL MANNERED AND WELL SUPERVISED CHILDREN. You must be 25 years or older to rent this cabin and at least one person 25 or older must remain in the cabin over night each day of the rental period. (Married couples under 25 must request a waiver). NO PETS AND NO SMOKING. (Smoking is permitted outside on porches & Decks). Reservations must be made in advance and require a $150.00 security deposit. Last minute rentals are considered depending on availability. The lodge rents for $150.00 per night for 1-4 Guests. Add $10.00 per night, per guest over 4 with a maximum capacity of 6 Guests total. There is a cleaning fee of $75.00 that covers the cleaning of the cabin, cleaning of the Hot Tub and laundry, plus Applicable Taxes. All Lodge policies and rules must be followed.
